Majestic and awe-inspiring, Tiki Island sends explorers into a whimsical world of fantasy and fun. Perched near Chandler Falls, the Island has family fun around every corner, including an attraction, restaurants, and entertainment options. The treasure of the Island lies in its beauty. Soaring palm trees and tropical plant life surrounds the winding molten pathways, overflowed by volcanic lava millions of years ago, hardened to pathways that lead to the Island's destinations.

Queue
The queue acts as an extended blending of Disneyland and Magic Kingdom's Tiki Room preshows.
The queue acts as an extended blending of Disneyland and Magic Kingdom's Tiki Room preshows.
The exterior "room" for the attraction will loom over the Tiki Gardens area where the queue takes place and built to be almost identical to Magic Kingdom's theater facade. Simple placemaking and landscaping will blend the initial theater into the larger showbuilding where the traveling part of the attraction takes place.
The idea of the Enchanted Tiki Gardens will be expanded into a full fledged concept, with a beautiful Polynesian array of flowers lining our path through the winding outdoor queue. Exact replicas of the Disneyland gods and goddess statues will be scattered around the garden in strategic ways. Tangaroa will tower over a ticket of palm trees, Korro's kite will be crashed into the side of the theater, Pele's volcanic presence will be blended into a garden of volcanic rockwork. Everything will be placed to be as close to the feeling of Disneyland's pre-show as possible while expanding it out into a full fledged walking trail style area leading up to the entrance of the theater where the attraction will properly start.
Theater and Ride System Set Up
The initial theater will be set up in an almost identical way to other Tiki Room theaters in a hexagon shape with each of the four sides of the room featuring replicated seating patterns. The only difference is that because of the traveling gimmick the seating along the walls of the theater will be removed essentially leaving us with four sides of several rows of seating. All the AA birds will be in tact and duplicated from other Tiki Rooms. Once the traveling element starts the back walls of the theater give way and all four seat groupings start down small independent sections of track that then connect back to each other to place all four of the ride vehicles on a singular track with switchbacks at the end of the ride grouping the sections off again to recreate the four sided theater set up. There will be two sets of traveling seats and the end switchback will also serve as a block brake to make sure the "theater" is clear.

SCENE ONE: A Familiar Favorite
The show starts in a similar way to Under New Management with the initial Tiki Tiki Room song being interupted. Instead of Gilbert Godfried however, the party is interrupted by the voice of Tangaroa himself who warns us of the presence of Uh-Oah, a banished Tiki God who has returned to wreck havoc. Tangaroa tasks us with traveling through his "land of enchantment" to defeat the trickster god and restore harmony to the surroundings. With that the theater literally opens up and a rendition of the Hawaiian war chant starts as our vehicles begin the transition onto the single track for the rest of our journey.
SCENE TWO: Wind and Rain
At this point it's worth noting that the AA gods and goddesses in this attraction will be styled after the classic Blaine Gibson sculptures but have a wide range of movement and effects surrounding them. It will be much in the same style that the Tiki drummers in the show are technically alive yet take on a literal wooden appearance.

As we exit the theater we find ourselves in a Polynesian rain forest in the purest sense of the word. Tangaroa-Ru, goddess of the East Wind and Hina, goddess of Rain are seen circling overhead, water sprinkling down from Hina's head while a fan furiously blows the fabrics and hairs of Tangaroa-Ru. The wind is meant to simulate us traveling rapidly through the environment and the two goddesses essentially helping us out in our travels.
SCENE THREE: Keys and Kites
SCENE THREE: Keys and Kites
The next scene sees us join up with Rongo, the midnight dancer in a small jungle hut that's completely surrounded by kites of all different styles. As we see in the original Tiki Room it was actually Rongo who discovered electricity via tying a key to a kite. We see this play out as the AA figure of Rongo greets us on the patio of the shack flying a kite that suddenly gets struck by lighting. Rongo begins to glow and passes the lightning on to us to charge the seats and build momentum for the vehicles to continue forward.
SCENE FOUR: You're Welcome!
SCENE FOUR: You're Welcome!
Maui will be one of the main set pieces of the attraction and fits the Iago roll of calling out how antique some of the other gods and goddesses are, but not in a mean-spirited way. Maui simply lists off his accomplishments, bragging about how he wants to be the one to bring down Uh-Oah. The AA of Maui will be by far the most complex in the attraction, comparable in tech to Ursula from Ariel's Undersea Adventure. The movements won't be the most fluid on the figure itself but what will stand out is the project mapped tattoos which will make the Maui figure very animated.
SCENE FIVE: The Midnight Dancer
We quickly transition from Maui's song into a more traditional Polynesian drum beat where we see an AA of Korro above us on a cliff with the traditional Tiki drummers on the lower levels next to the track providing the beat.

Korro is dancing in time with the drumming, in reality it will be simple movements amplified by flashing lights meant to simulate lightning. With Korro being the midnight dancer, this scene is used to effectively get us from the more light-hearted part of the ride towards the climatic encounters with the more nefarious gods.
SCENE SIX: Balancing the Earth
SCENE SIX: Balancing the Earth
This will be a very quick build-up to Uh-Oah as we see Nhgendi the earth-balancer submerged upside down and shaking as the tremors of a volcanic eruption break up our vehicles. This leads to the finale which takes place inside the largest room of the show building and features four winding paths around Pele, Uh-Oah, and Tangaroa.
SCENE SEVEN: The Harmony of Nature
SCENE SEVEN: The Harmony of Nature
In this room we see large scale AAs of Uh-Oah, Pele the goddess of fire and volcanoes, and Tangaroa the giant tree locked in a battle. Uh-Oah being the smallest of the three but the most advanced AA, Pele being larger scale wood style figure with the traditional volcanic head as seen in the Disneyland attraction. Tangaroa will tower over the whole room. Essentially the gist of the finale is that Tangaroa rains "new life" in the form of project mapped sap and flowers into the lava of Pele's erupting volcanoes.

The volcanic energy is fueling Uh-Oah, and the energy is stopped once Tangaroa's lifesource is added to the lava. This is a lesson of nature working in unison with each other. In a very "circle of life" type moment the destructive but natural force of Pele's lava mixed with the saps and roots of Tangaroa form a beautiful flowered landscape that defeats Uh-Oah. In one more cue to Moana, Pele transforms herself into Te Fiti the Polynesian goddess of nature via project mapping effects. And with nature being harmoniously restored, the different sections of the traveling theater come to one final set of tunnels which is used to position the different sections of seating into the original theater room.
