An explorer's paradise, Discovery Island has been a haven for adventure. Settled by the Society of Explorers and Adventures hundreds of years ago, Discovery Island boasts a towering, mountainous waterfall that Jason Chandler, the founding member of S.E.A., named after his family name, Chandler Falls.
Throughout Discovery Island's history, expeditions have been had up and around the waterslide, which natives to the island believe holds a mystical pirate treasure that only few have dared to seek out, with none being successful. In the middle of the tropical oasis, a village built by S.E.A. housed the expansion of the Jungle Navigation Co, as Albert Falls got word of Discovery Island. Other S.E.A. members decided to settle on the island, using it as a port for international trade and exploration. The village plaza holds a quick service restaurant and shop, Wilderness Explorer route, all among walk-around characters who may interact with guests depending on what they do throughout their day at Adventureland.

Pirates of Discovery Island: The Key to Chaos
Come one come all, to the legendary Professor Colorado’s “Expedidtion of the Spirit Skull”. As an acclaimed explorer and member of S.E.A., Colorado seeks to acclaim the one thing that he doesn’t have: Eternal Life! Being the famous explorer that he is, Colorado never backs down from any adventure, but after further inspection of the “Discovery Island”, he’s requested some back up, that being YOU! Sign up at ——— Island to become a part of his team. Board the Jungle Cruise boats to reach the island. Of course, guests could always find another way there...
This E-Ticket attraction is extremely unique, with a one-of-a-kind ride system. "The Key to Chaos" features a state of the art EMV-Boat Ride hybrid, that allows for a seamless transition between slow-moving water dark ride and high-speed land thrill ride.
Section 1
The ride starts in a dark grotto, similar to that of the other Pirate rides. Skeletal Pirates can be seen, chained against the rocky walls. As the boats turn the corner, riders enter a treasure room, filled with references to Disney Park attractions of the past and future (I.e. PotC, HM, Splash, JII, etc.). Professor Colorado, chained to the wall, warns travellers of the terrible fate that faces them if they were to take the treasure. Suddenly, the ghost of Davy Jones appears, and he send guests down a magically appearing waterfall. The effect would be similar to the one is Shanghai’s Pirates. The drop here would have some element of free fall, just like IJA.
Section 2
At the bottom of the mountain, the grotto is darker, and the amount of skeletons is more numerous. The dead skeletons transform into living Pirates, and the surrounding cave becomes the burning town of Tortuga. The pirates are trying to scare you out of their treasure filled cave by recreating their roughest adventures. The classic song “Yo-Ho!” fills the air as riders pass by the familiar Pirates of the Caribbean scenes, such as the Auctioneer and Jailers scenes.
Section 3
Once outside the town, guests go though a dangerous swamp, filled with skeletal crocodiles, and ghoulish lightning bugs. Once again, through illusionary power, the pirates send the guests to the bottom of the ocean (with that some waterfall effect, this time no drop).
Section 4
At the bottom of the ocean, riders encounter decently sized animatronics of the kraken, and other famous sea creatures. Guests enter the sunken half of the Flying Dutchman ship, and they come face to face with the giant and horrifying Davy Jones animatronic.
Section 5
What ensues next is a rapid chase up and outside the mountain and waterfall. This is the high speed section, containing sharp turns and dips.
Section 6
With the exit in sight, riders think it will be an easy escape. Out of nowhere the distance to the exit gets larger and turns into a pirate ship war. On one ship, the escaped Colorado fights Davy Jones in his humanoid form. Escaping this, riders shoot down a 60 ft drop to where the first grotto was. Approaching the unsunken half of the Flying Dutchman, the Spirit Skull is in plain sight. Davy Jones appears once again to defend his treasure. Colorado decides to call the mission off, as he helps the guests exit through the back of the cave. Unfortunately, the treasure isn’t be claimed, but everyone lives to tell the tale.

Adventureland Tours: Presented by the Jungle Navigation Co.
The next iteration of Adventureland here at Disneyland Brazil would not be the same without the integration and evolution of one of the most iconic and classic Disney attractions- The Jungle Cruise!
The next iteration of Adventureland here at Disneyland Brazil would not be the same without the integration and evolution of one of the most iconic and classic Disney attractions- The Jungle Cruise!
Disneyland Brazil was a park designed very artistically and beautifully, with a looping waterway connecting the lands of the park. Adventureland's island design makes an important note to keep this feature alive and finally connect the water all the way around the park. With such a design, a lot can be done with it and add more energy to the land, which is why the story is being brought all the way back to the Jungle Cruise. In its various editions in parks around the globe, the Jungle Cruise takes guests on a magical journey traveling down different rivers of the world. Here, this concept is expanding and will serve as a thesis attraction for the land of sorts, being the bridge that connects the different themed islands.
Similarly to the Peoplemover, the Jungle Navigation Co.'s Adventureland Tours will have a purpose catered more towards touring and providing new angles at the land for those riding, and acting as kinetic energy for those off the ride. With this type of focus, the boats will be slightly smaller with more of them to allow for a more constant loading stream.
There is no specific show area, as it takes place in the open rivers and waters of the land with the Skipper guides making jokes inspired from the sights of the land. Of course, there will still be the traditional gags set up as additional set pieces, such as a book off in-between the trees, but unlike other iterations, there will be no script. The Skippers will be encouraged much more so to make each ride unique and original, giving even more of a new experience each time. And with the nature of the ride's placement giving plenty of content to do so with, you'll have to ride it multiple times!

Interactive Adventures
Discovery Island acts as the headquarters for the "Wilderness Explorer Adventure," and interactive adventure throughout Adventureland that gives guests of all ages the opportunity to earn one of three badges, one per island. Upon arriving at Explorer headquarters, guests will receive one of three maps and their wilderness explorer badge. This RFID-enabled badge will unlock a variety of each mission's interactive aspects. At this outpost, guests will be taken to an interactive station, where they will scan their map's barcode and badge and an "outpost video" from Russel will play. This video will explain to guests how the badge can be scanned onto any wilderness explorer icon at the designated locations on the map, and, once each task was completed, in order, they would be able to go to a special, secret location to get their badge. Without further adieu, here are the four missions and stations:
Map Reading Badge- Discovery Island
Station 1- Cartography

Tiki Knowledge Badge- Tiki Island
Station 1- Fiber Optic Tiki
In an adjacent garden near the Enchanted Tiki Journey, guests will find a tiki that lights the path to their next station will a fiber optic rail.
Station 2- Protector Tiki

Station 3- Waters of Wonder
In the center of the village, a collection of seemingly obsolete vases are placed, but, upon scanning one's badge, the vases turn into an enchanted water show to the tune of "Arabian Nights," "A Whole New World," or "Friend Like Me"
